Rainbow Melted Crayons (and bonus prank idea)

These melted crayons were a fun summer project. They kept the kids entertained and were almost free to make. Round up all of your broken crayons, peel the paper off, and break/cut into small pieces. Place in lined muffin tins and melt in the oven to make rainbow crayons!

The kids loved sorting out the colors to make their own custom crayons. It was fun to see how they all turned out! The best surprise was a variety of brown crayons that melted to resemble Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Mmmmm Reese's! I think we have a pretty good prank ready to go, except now I want a Reese's!

Some tips for success:

Consider using foil muffin liners to reduce the wax that can soak through onto the muffin tin.

After you peel off the liner and before you give them to the kids, you may want to run your finger around the top edge or rub on a piece of paper to remove tiny pieces that break off and make a mess.
